In the News

UPDATE:

Our story continues to gain interest. I will be adding more In The News articles concerning  our journey to saving ME’s life. Unfortunately, it did not end with ME finally getting Katie Beckett.

Follow along here as we share the interviews,  from various sources, in which I get to share our journey, alongside those who fought for ME’s life:

Life as we fought to bring ME back…
We are absolutely, incredibly, over the moon, grateful for the Katie Beckett TN program. It’s a program that has been so very needed in the state of TN.

Due to lack of care being administered by our primary insurance, we were desperate for Katie Beckett to be established and running. We were also extremely exhausted during the Katie Beckett enrollment process since we were battling for our child’s life, without supports in place due to primary insurance denials, and just plain being overwhelmed by the process.

We are happy to share that Katie Beckett TN saved ME’s life, and we will forever advocate for Katie Beckett TN’s much needed programing and services.

Here is a little of our Katie Beckett journey in the news:
We were able to share our concerns on Live at Nine.
We later were interviewed about our journey as a new Katie Beckett family by the Tennessean.
Thanks to Katie Beckett, we were now able to share about DSRD and help other families get the help they need. This interview was before ME’s much needed treatment, while we awaited her primary care insurance to approve it. Thankfully the state of TN overturned our primary health care’s denial, and ME has been getting her life saving treatment.

We hope there is more to come on that. We plan  to teach others how to navigate self funded health care plans, and hope to hold companies accountable for good faith administration of them.

Watch for more about that initiative. It will benefit both families and the programs in the state of Tennessee, and likely beyond.

In the News Dreamers Coffee:

Before we ever heard of DSRD,  and before our battle for ME’s life, we knew something was not right for ME. Opening our business was our way of creating an opportunity for her future while we worked hard to determine what was wrong and create avenues to help her.
