Those Pesky Bugs

In our house, we love studying insects as much as the next guy. In fact, these are three of my favorite photos of ME from when she was little. We were showing her some insects on a banister. Her reaction is priceless!

Having said that, the thought of mosquitoes and flies heading our way this summer, already makes me cringe.

We live in a wooded subdivision, so we get an extra dose every year.

Previous years, we have tried everything to get rid of them. One year, a man came and bombed our whole yard. It worked. Best results to date. But somehow I don't feel comfortable with it.

So, this whole winter I have been studying other ways.

And I came along this...

The process makes sense to me. So we are going to give it a whirl.

It arrived on my doorstep yesterday.

We read that it needs to be set up where the wind is blowing in the right direction. There were a few other suggestions as well. So we strategized the best location, and I set it up this morning. I am so curious if this will work! I hope so!
Everyone is curious. lol

It has already captured some insects, so hopefully that is a good sign.

I will be sure to update at the end of the season.

(You know you are a home school mom, when setting up a bug catcher becomes one of your lessons in science. lol)
